Detailed Description The Scribe Winery 2021 Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir dances delicately between crisp, fresh fruit like wild strawberries or key lime and an almost ocean breeze minerality. Scribe Winery post-harvest Dinner at Bar Tartine in San Francisco, December 3rd. When I contacted Scribe, they rushed cards out to my clients and me and could not have been nicer about handling it. Two other cards had recipes for the salad dressing and a margarita (the verjus can be used as a mix for several drinks). The second shipment lacked recipe cards that had come with the previous bottles and the recipe cards are an essential touch. We bought a bottle of the verjus to take home and then once we were home we twice ordered quite a bit more shipped to us to share with friends and to give as gifts some of my clients. The meals that Kelly creates are based around what’s coming out of the garden on their property, which means she changes the menu on a weekly basis. The dressing base was verjus, which is made from pinot grapes before they ripen. They bought it 11 years ago, put in the vines, and a year-and-a-half ago finished restoration on the hacienda where the tastings now take place. My favorite was the bib lettuce salad and vinaigrette dressing - I can't guarantee it will be a taste explosion for everyone but it was for me. You'll be seated at a casual picnic table and given a snack tray to nibble on throughout the tasting. It's a very small winery up on a hill that has amazing views of the valley. Just as the estate vines were taking root, Scribe first made Pinot Noir on the flats of their Carneros farm in 2007, composed of equal parts of two. ![]() We heard of this hipster-like winery through the grapevine and decided to make an appt. A lot of the food was grown on the premises in a garden I could see from my table - cherry tomatoes, olives, almonds. Scribe was the most unique tasting experience our family group had in Napa/Sonoma. Meat, cheese, bread and various vegetables were served in dishes that our group passed around to each other. Prefer steak, chicken, pasta, pizza with wine, so I was surprised how much I enjoyed the food served with the wine tasting here (the Hacienda tasting). Cool, mellow Sonoma vibe and excellent food. ![]()
